Sadly it is a common practice not understanding what we are reading. Surah Kahf teaches many lessons as well, along with the virtues it carries. This surah brings together many amazing stories,

  • Story of the cave
  • Story of the man who owns two gardens
  • Story Musa and Al-Khidr
  • Story of Dhul Qarnain (The Righteous King)

The Surah also warns of the dangers of pride, telling us that even prophets can fall victim to it . Prophet Muhammad  ﷺ said:

“Whoever reads Surah Kahf on Friday, Allah will bestow upon him light between those two Fridays.”

3 – Reward for Memorizing Surah Kahf

We are living in times where the end is near. This Surah is also a protective shield for when the Dajjal arrives, the greatest trial yet to come. A Surah with 110 verses cannot be easily be memorized, just so that we can reap the benefits, Allah SWT made it easier for us.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said:

One who memorized the first ten verses of Surah Kahf will be secure against the Dajjal .”

Only the first ten verses, that’s pretty easy if you break it down in 10 days, by the 11th day you most probably would have memorized it. Don’t worry Allah will keep these verses safe in your heart once you have memorized

“And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?”

2 – Preferred Time To Be Read

It isn’t mentioned in any hadith the specific time, but only it is mention on Friday. So according to some scholars, Friday starts at sunset on Thursday and ends at sunset on Friday, that is the time duration mapped out, 24 hours to be exact enough hours to spare some time to read Surah Kahf.

1 – Consistency In Good Deeds

When we are determined to lose weight, we eat healthy 24/7, 30days in a month, and 12 months in the year. This is called consistency because staying on a diet two days of the week and stuffing yourself the remaining five days will get you no results. In the same way, we have to be consistent in our ibadah, the regularity will bring in the rewards abundantly.
